Bed Bug Treatment & Elimination
Bed bugs are one of the hardest pests to eliminate without professional help. They hide in mattress seams, furniture, outlets, and baseboards — and a single missed egg can restart an infestation. EntoLogic uses targeted heat and chemical treatments to eliminate them completely.
Why Bed Bugs Are So Hard to Eliminate
Bed bugs aren’t a sign of poor hygiene — they’re expert hitchhikers that spread through travel, used furniture, and shared spaces. And they’re built to survive.
Eggs Survive Most Sprays
Most over-the-counter bed bug sprays kill live bugs but don’t penetrate eggs. Those eggs hatch 6–10 days later and the cycle starts over. Effective treatment must account for the full life cycle — not just what’s visible today.
Excellent at Hiding
Bed bugs shelter in mattress seams, box springs, headboards, furniture joints, outlet covers, baseboards, and even behind picture frames. A thorough inspection requires knowing exactly where to look — and what to look for.
Pesticide Resistance
Many bed bug populations in South Florida have developed resistance to common pyrethroid-based sprays. This is why store-bought products often fail. We use rotation-based chemical protocols and heat treatment to overcome resistance.
Bed Bug Treatment Options
The right treatment depends on the severity of infestation, the type of space, and your situation. We’ll recommend the most effective approach after inspection.
Heat Treatment
We raise the temperature in the affected space to 120°F+ — lethal to bed bugs and their eggs at all life stages. Heat penetrates into mattresses, furniture, and wall voids where chemicals can’t reach. No chemicals, no residue, one-day treatment.
Chemical Treatment
A multi-product chemical protocol applied to all harborage sites — mattress seams, furniture joints, baseboards, and outlets. We use a combination of contact killers and residual products that continue working after application. Multiple visits included.
Heat + Chemical Combination
For severe or widespread infestations, combining heat treatment with residual chemical application gives the most comprehensive results. Heat handles the immediate population; residuals catch any survivors and prevent re-establishment.
Our Bed Bug Treatment Process
Every treatment starts with a thorough inspection — because understanding the scope of the infestation determines how we treat it.
Step 1 — Inspection
We inspect every potential harborage site — mattresses, box springs, bed frames, nightstands, upholstered furniture, baseboards, outlets, and luggage. We document live bugs, cast skins, fecal staining, and eggs to map the infestation accurately.
Step 2 — Treatment Plan
Based on infestation severity and your preferences, we recommend heat treatment, chemical treatment, or a combination. We walk you through exactly what to expect, how to prepare your space, and what the follow-up schedule looks like.
Step 3 — Treatment
Treatment is performed thoroughly and discreetly. For chemical treatments we treat every harborage site — not just the obvious ones. For heat treatment we set up equipment to ensure the entire space reaches and holds lethal temperature.
Step 4 — Follow-Up
A follow-up inspection 10–14 days after treatment confirms elimination and catches any activity from eggs that hatched post-treatment. For chemical programs, additional treatment visits are included until the infestation is fully resolved.
Signs You Have Bed Bugs
Bed bug bites alone aren’t a reliable indicator — reactions vary widely between people. Look for these physical signs in your sleeping and living areas.
- Small rust-colored or dark spots on mattress seams or sheets (fecal staining)
- Tiny pale yellow shed skins or eggshells near the bed
- Live bugs — about the size and shape of an apple seed — in mattress folds
- A sweet, musty odor in the bedroom with no obvious source
- Itchy welts in a line or cluster, often on arms, neck, or legs
- Blood smears on pillowcases or sheets from crushed bugs
- Waking up with bites that weren’t there when you went to sleep
- Recent travel, hotel stays, or acquisition of used furniture
